Nothing is more dangerous to an intact social order than an invisible clandestine, anonymous political power such as the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), which is riding roughshod over populations, foreign and domestic, unchecked, unrestrained, and unlimited in its hunger for data. Indeed, one expert mused about the global ambitions of organizations such as the FBI and NSA ? ?It?s beyond Orwellian? they?re saying ?Give me EVERYTHING you have for EVERYBODY, for EVERYWHERE??.
 
In short, information is also power, the power of knowledge. Now the latest scandalous revelations are clearly not only a violation of international diplomatic law, but also open up a new dimension of surveillance activities as such. We would like to get to the bottom of the problem, if indeed there is a bottom.
