A musical journey through the musical universe of the "Godfathers of Worldbeat"

Dissidents Universe invites to a journey through the musical universe of the "Godfathers of World Beat" (Rolling Stone). The music pioneers take you from Germanistan to India, from North Africa to North America. From "Sahara Elektrik" to "Tanger Sessions", from "Live at the Pyramids" to "Live in New York," from "Jungle Book" to "A World Beat Odyssey".

Right from the beginning musical borders never existed for the Dissidenten. Their approach has always been universal, long before such ideas became popular. Unlike other artists, they not just added sounds from other cultures to their own music, Dissidenten always tried to share music and stage with musicians from other countries. That´s why the guest list on their albums sounds like the Who Is Who of what is now known as World Music. Guest musicians are always welcome at their concerts.

Dissident´s Universe brings the essence of the band on stage. 25 years worldwide on the road made the live shows of the band maturing into something unique. The poet Christopher Leisten wrote after a show in Aachen (Germany) in 2009: "Two hours of music at a density, fineness, sophistication and intelligence, which make any comparison like mockery. Pure happiness when they conjure sounds, harmonies and coloratura passages on stage, we could not even imagine that they are possible at all.

And all this together with this tremendous fun to play, this totally unassuming, totally unaffectedly acting on stage, where the music alone in all it facets becomes the center of the world."
