Filmvorführung mit Einführung und Diskussion - Film screening with introduction and discussion In der rapide wachsenden Tech-Branche ist ein unverhältnismäßig großer Teil der App-Entwickler männlich – über 80%. Technovation versucht dieses Ungleichgewicht zu bekämpfen und fordert jedes Jahr junge Frauen auf der ganzen Welt auf, eine App zu entwickeln, die ein Problem in ihrem Umfeld behebt. Dem Gewinnerteam stehen 10.000 Dollar in Aussicht. Der Film CodeGirl begleitet einige dieser Teams auf ihrem Weg und will Mädchen und Frauen weltweit dazu motivieren, die Tech-Branche mehr ins Gleichgewicht zu bringen – vielleicht auch Dich?

By 2017, the app market had a combined value of over 77 billion U.S. dollars. Over 80% of developers working in the field are male. Every year, Technovation challenges girls all over the world to build a mobile app that will address a community problem. The winning team gets $10.000 to complete and release their app. The documentary film CodeGirl follows teams of girls who dream of holding their own in the world’s fastest-growing industry, from rural Moldova to urban Brazil to suburban Massachusetts. The film’s creators want to inspire girls everywhere to pursue a career in programming, empowering them with the knowledge that girls just like them from all over the globe are learning to code and developing applications that improve the world in which they live – and what about you?
