Daughter of the musician Suavi Karaibrahimgil, Nil wrote her first song "I see clouds rain is coming..." at the age of 12. In middle school she played the piano and later she started playing the jazz guitar. At 19, she started working in one of the leading advertising agencies in Turkey named ‘Reklamevi’ as a copywriter. In 2000, she graduated from BoÄŸaziçi University as an honour student in Political Science and International Relations. Following her graduation she continued working in advertising earning success over time. As a very sucessfull copywriter she received the Crystal Apple prize award twice with the lyrics she wrote for Hüner Margarin and First Duo, which recognized her achievements in advertising. She also composed jingles for Bellona, Trendy&Friendly and Algida. Nil Karaibrahimgil’s turning point of her career was her appereance in Hazırkart advertisements. She wrote lyrics and created the jingle for Turkcell, which is the biggest GSM operator in Turkey. Overnight she became known as ‘free girl’. The song she wrote for the ad became an instant hit and sold 200.000 copies. In the ad she traveled in the eastern region of Turkey singing the song ‘I am free; and became a role model especially for women symbolizing freedom. The campaign lasted 5 years, with the appereance of the famous musician Tarkan in later episodes. . The jingle she composed for Orkid for the second time became a radical voice for the Turkish women communicating the message ‘I can have a career and have a child’.
