Director Morgan Spurlock takes out a risky experiment on himself: For a 30-day period he eats only McDonald's food. The film documents this lifestyle's drastic effects on Spurlock's physical and psychological well-being and also analyzes the American habit of trying to immediately satisfy real or perceived needs. Spurlock explores the fast food industry's corporate influence, including how it encourages poor nutrition for its own profit. Super Size Me was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2004.
