3.39 am: You can’t breathe anymore and can hardly look straight ahead. Your T-shirt is soaking wet, the stain of sweat is everywhere. Boom! Once again, a hairy elbow hits you right into the feeder and next thing you know is that you find your face buried in a nice pair of boobies. Slowly the dry ice fog rises and while you’re being run over for the millionth time, you catch a quick glimpse of the DJ-table. You’re able to recognize two shadowy figures. The two dudes up there are the Drunken Masters and they just turned your relaxed night out into the most awesome night of your life! And you better thank them for that…

You stagger alongside the wall towards the restroom. Once in a while you can hear someone conspiratorially whispering that those DJs up there have managed to reduce every event to the rubble so far, no matter whether it was a high-class snobby after-party in Munich’s P1 or the snowboarders’ elite’s rendezvous at the “Air & Style”. They do that with their very unique mix of day-glowing electronic-bang, classic rap-shit from Kool G Rap up to K.I.Z. and gnarly cool mash-ups. To sum it up: good music you can shake your booty to perfectly and simply party like a rock-star!

You know who I’m talking about: Big Joe and Slim-C. They are also known as the Drunken Masters!

“In our sets, we’ve never restricted ourselves to a special kind of genre. We simply mix all kinds of music and also produce our own mash-ups.” That’s how the two boys from Kempten describe their own and unique style. Here, rough gangster rap directly from the streets meets Lil John’s polished bawl-along-crunk, everything jazzed up with some cheesy 80s ballads and a selection of classic pop hits. Of course, this all climaxes in the obligatory hipster-hymns of MGMT and some Ed-Banger-medleys. Everything perfectly mixed and combined with a good and proper portion of Bavarian booming of the basses.
In spite of only treating the party-moody audience with crowd-pleasers, by now the Drunken Masters are also known for their remixes. This may either be Duck Sauce’s tune-wedgie “Barbara Streisand”, Marteria’s “Verstrahlt” or Prinz Pi’s “Königin von Kreuzberg”, which they all fitted out with a new set of synth-clothes. The two boys’ from Kempten’s affinity for brightening up pertinent rap-hits rests on their past which is closely connected to rap-music.
Their sound’s deliberately chosen versatility has opened the floodgates for the two DJs. They caused a lot of trouble on the “Suzuki Wir Schanzen Tour 2008” (www.wirschanzen.de), exposed the Oakley Jib Vid 2009 to strong sonic waves and spun the records at the Forum Fuck-it Europe-Tour. All of those being renowned events, complemented with collective sets with luminaries like DJ Rafik, DJ Stylewarz, Wax Wreckaz and Kid Fresh. 6.29 am: You’re lying in your bed now. Your head is spinning and there’s no way you can count all the bruises all over your body. And don’t even mention the constant beeping in your ear! Big Joe and Slim-C aka the Drunken Masters clearly beat you down, and they definitely know how to party like a rock-star!
